From April 14 to 17, 2024, one of the most important wine events in the world will be held in Verona: Vinitaly. On the opening day, April 14 at 2:00 pm, in Pavilion 8, in the institutional space of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Sardinian delegation of the national association “Le Donne del Vino” will present: “The Vineyard by the Sea” a story dedicated to the elegance of Cannonau, the leading grape variety of our Island. The absolute protagonist will be Cannonau, described by the speakers in its various aspects, from strictly wine-growing to wine tourism, concluding with innovation. "This is an event we have been working on for some time," says delegate Nina Puddu. "The Vineyard by the Sea," a collection of stories by Grazia Deledda, the Sardinian writer who was the first female Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1926, is the title of the meeting, and it will allow us to tell the world of wine by connecting it to writing and the identity of our places, in particular Cannonau, which we want to present in its most modern and refined form." The chosen topic is absolutely in line with the association’s theme for 2024 “Women, Wine and Culture” and expresses the soul and character of the territory and Sardinian women in every respect. The meeting will be moderated by Gambero Rosso journalist Giuseppe Carrus, the regional delegate Nina Puddu, producer of the Fratelli Puddu winery in Oliena, will open the event, followed by contributions from various members: the entrepreneur of “Le Strade del gusto” and vice delegate Cristina Mamusa, the restaurateur of Convento San Giuseppe in Cagliari and vice delegate Luisa Carcangiu Bayre, the territorial marketing consultant and designer with Wine App and Sardegna wine&food Nadia De Santis from Alghero, the regional president of the association “Movimento Turismo del Vino Sardegna” and producer of the Su’Entu winery Valeria Pilloni from Sanluri.
