Le strade del gusto presents a mini online course to learn in a simple and fun way the rules of wine tasting. “Tasting is an analysis that is carried out only with the help of the senses, during which the risk of being guided by personal tastes is always lurking. Learning to taste means sampling wine with attention, connecting the sensations perceived to its history and evolution. And above all, learning to know it and to express an evaluation not conditioned by one's own preferences.” The course, curated by the Sommelier and official taster Cristina Mamusa, and with the contribution of other professional sommeliers, is divided into 4 lessons: Each lesson can be purchased individually at a cost of 15 euros. Supporting teaching materials will be used for the lesson, which can later be shared with participants. As an alternative to purchasing individual lessons, in our SHOP you can purchase the entire "COMPLETE COURSE" package at the price of 45 euros (instead of 60 euros). “The first phase of tasting is the visual examination, the first step to evaluate a wine, during which various information is acquired about the grape variety from which the wine was obtained, the environment in which the vine grew, and the techniques used for its vinification. The visual examination provides a series of clues to understand the type of wine, its composition, and its evolution.” What you need for the 1st lesson: 2. The second lesson will be dedicated to the OLFACTORY EXAMINATION OF WINE. “The olfactory examination represents the second phase of tasting and serves to discover everything that makes up the wine's aromatic profile, rich in dozens of varied scents that range among the aromas of everything found in nature.” What you need for the 2nd lesson: 3. The third lesson will be dedicated to the TASTE-OLFACTORY EXAMINATION OF WINE. “The taste-olfactory examination must verify whether the predictions made during the previous phases had a real basis, to allow a concrete and precise evaluation of the wine's value. The tasting must be carried out with the utmost attention, to avoid making mistakes that could make the evaluations less reliable.” What you need for the 3rd lesson: 4. The fourth lesson will be dedicated to the GUIDED TASTING OF 2 WINES. During this lesson we will taste 2 wines together. We will go through all the tasting phases together but using the same wine with the guidance of the sommelier. We will discover and try to describe together the colors, aromas, and taste of the two selected wines. What you need for the 4th lesson: Duration of each lesson: 45 minutes
1. The first lesson will be dedicated to the VISUAL EXAMINATION OF WINE.
