The Women of Wine of Sardinia, an association in which I have held the role of Vice Delegate for a few weeks, has organized a charity evening for March 8th at the evocative location of Il Convento San Giuseppe, at Via Paracelso 16 in Cagliari.



This is an elegant dinner - with a served buffet - featuring international dishes that will celebrate the existing bond with the 10 nations where there are “sister” associations of Le donne del vino. We are talking about the Amuva Association (Argentina), The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society (Australia), 11 Frauen und ihre Weine (Austria), Donne del Vino del Cile (Chile), Femmes de Vin (France), Baia’s Wine (Georgia), Vinissima (Germany), Women in Wine – (New Zealand) and Las Damas del Pisco (Peru). «Women, wine: a united world», this is the theme of the evening, to convey a common message of unity, dialogue and openness to an international network of women to increase wine culture and the enhancement of women in the wine sector. Among the proposed appetizers we will have the Argentine Empanadas de Tonno, the Georgian Khachapuri, the exquisite Chilean White fish ceviche; followed by the German Currywurst, which consists of tasty spiced sausage and onions. As first courses there will be the Macadamia Pumpkin Soup, an Australian dish, and then the Austrian Spatzle with onions and speck. The classic New Zealand dish Lamb and potatoes and the tasty Mini Hamburgers complete the main courses. The two desserts offered are a Chilean Dulce de leche and the classic French Crêpes suzette, a delicacy loved by everyone. During the dinner, you will be able to taste wines from the associated producers paired with the international dishes. Participating in the event are the wineries Su Entu with Valeria Pilloni, Audarya by Nicoletta Pala, Cantine Biboi by Carola Angius, Cantina Gibadda by Patricia Vidotto, Mora e Memo by Elisabetta Pala, Cantina Lilliu with Roberta Porceddu, Ferruccio Deiana with Maria Grazia Perra, Antonella Corda by Antonella Corda, Cantina Puddu with Nina Puddu, Argiolas with Valentina Argiolas, Pala with Amalia Dessì and La Contralta with AnnaMaria Fara. The members Susana Alonso, Denise Dessena, Alessandra Guigoni and Nadia De Santis contributed to the organization of the evening by taking care of communication, Emanuela Vargiu and Rossella Cavassa for external relations, the sommeliers Maria Cristina Mamusa and Rossella Pisano who took care of the food-wine pairings, the sommeliers Angela Mereu and Claudia Comunale who will coordinate the service and finally Luisa Carcangiu Bayre owner of the Convento San Giuseppe and vice delegate of the association, who took great care in preparing the 10 proposed dishes.

One of the traits of unity and sharing in the world is food, a fundamental element of life, and for this reason we will combine some international dishes from ten nations of the world with the wines of Sardinia, thus giving a sign of cohesion and brotherhood.
