It is now official, starting from Saturday, July 18, 2020, the Cantine di Dolianova will continuously open their doors to external visitors, that is, they will activate the hospitality service (a term used by industry professionals to indicate the possibility of visiting production companies and tasting their products). This news, as a Sommelier and even more as a Food and Wine Guide, can only make me enthusiastic, because it will finally be possible to visit one of the oldest and most important wineries in all of Sardinia, as well as one of the most interesting production activities in the Parteolla area. “The Cantine di Dolianova were founded in 1949. In those years, in a Sardinia that was still very backward, profoundly different from today, a group of winegrowers joined together in a cooperative to try to better enhance and personally value the fruit of their labor, giving a common strength to the commitment of individuals. The family album of the Cantine is full of images that tell that story and show the evolution of the Cooperative. The photos of the harvests, the historic bottles, the first prizes won. The faces of then overlap with those of today because often the members of the Cantine are the children and grandchildren of those first founders.” Today the Cantine count over 300 members and 1200 hectares of vineyards; they produce about 4.5 million bottles and export their wines all over the world, and the awards and recognitions obtained in 70 years of activity are over 500. In the last 4 years, significant investments have been made in terms of image and packaging with the complete renewal of the graphic image. Starting Saturday, a further step forward will be taken, investing in the hospitality service. It will be possible to visit the winery from Monday to Saturday with 2 daily tours: the morning one starting at 10:30 a.m. and the afternoon one starting at 3:30 p.m. On Saturdays, it will only be possible to take the morning tour. Given the particular restrictions of the moment, to ensure the safety of visitors and winery staff, a maximum number of 10 people will be allowed for each tour. If there is a request for a larger group, differentiated tours will be created, with different guides, and with a starting interval of at least 30 minutes, to avoid the creation of gatherings in the production areas. The minimum number of participants required to activate a tour is 2 people. Each tour will last about 2 - 2.5 hours, including wine tasting. Tours and final tasting will take place under the guidance of professional sommeliers. To visit the winery, it is necessary to book by calling the winery's number 070.744101 (selecting key 9 – winery visit), or by visiting the winery's website and filling out the appropriate form. https://www.cantinedidolianova.it/la-cantina/visite-in-cantina/ Visitors can choose between 2 types of tastings, a top tasting with the winery's high-end wines and a classic tasting with the jewel wines of the horeca channel. The visitor can decide which type of tasting to do either at the time of booking (by selecting the preferred option in the form to be filled out) or on the day of the visit. The Top Tasting includes 3 glasses of wine, which the guest can choose from those listed below, accompanied by a selection of local products (bread, cheese, and cured meats). The cost of the Top Tasting will be 25 euros for each guest and includes the guided tour of the winery, the tasting of the 3 wines, and local products. Visits to the Cantine di Dolianova will be carried out in compliance with the Covid 19 Protocol “Tranquillamente enoturismo” developed by experts and wine tourism organizations worldwide. The use of masks will be mandatory during visits to the production areas and outdoors if it is not possible to maintain the physical distancing required by current regulations. All that remains is to book your winery tour and guided wine tasting!
The Jewel Tasting includes 3 glasses of wine, which the guest can choose from those listed below, accompanied by a selection of local products (bread, cheese, and cured meats). The cost of the Jewel Tasting will be 20 euros for each guest and includes the guided tour of the winery, the tasting of the 3 wines, and local products.
