Olive oil mill tour
We will visit one of the most important olive oil mills in Parteolla (from the Latin Pars Olea), an area near Cagliari and particularly vocated for the production of quality extra virgin olive oil. The olive oil mill has been in business since 1962 and was built by 31 citizens and olive growers of Dolianova (the main town of Parteolla) in order to improve the quality, productivity and marketability of an already excellent product by nature. The farmers of this region carry a long tradition behind them, in fact, since the time of the Phoenicians, a few centuries before Christ, the fruits of the olive tree were harvested and transformed in the Parteolla area. The experience begins with a visit to the production area dedicated to table olives (olives that we taste during our aperitifs or that we bring to our tables) and then continue with a visit to the mill (area dedicated to the extra virgin olive oil production). You can see the oil mill in operation from October to February. The visit will continue in the tasting room where we will be able to view a video story of oil production, from harvesting to milling and bottling and will end with the guided tasting of some products (2 types of EVO oil, olive cream and olives). You will discover that from different olives you get oils with very different visual and taste characteristics and that for each food there is a correct pairing. You will be able to see the machinery in operation from October to February (EVO oil production period).

The cost includes:
visit to the mill, tasting of 2 extra virgin olive oil, olives, olive paté, food and wine guide for the whole experience. The cost of transport to reach the mill is not included.
